Now this was a fun show! Nerds is the musical, satirical rendition of the story of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates as they went from being nobodies to owning the world but always remained… nerds! Charlie Pollock plays hippie visionary Steve Jobs like Elliot Gould as a teenager. Not that I ever saw Elliot Gould as a teenager, but that’s pretty much how I imagined him. Jim Poulos plays Bill Gates like a straightlaced shark, but always with an edge of the nerd he used to be. If you grew up a nerd, some parts might make you shake your head as you’re laughing, but only because you can’t deny that you were like that once, too.

Nerds is at the Philadelphia Theatre Company through February 25th.
