No Ark Neccessary

So we all know that it’s been raining just a teeny-weeny bit. Well, this morning, in response to the weather conditions, my condo association sent out an email warning about the Schuylkill’s predicted crest and how it might be a good idea for all of us to get our cars out of the garage (it’s below-ground where many people have their basements) and onto higher ground.

Shortly after noon, a follow-up email arrived from one of my neighbors:

Hello everyone. This is Doug Kammerer from NBC 10 in case some of you do not know me. In looking at the latest data from the National Weather Service, the river is now NOT expected to flood our garage. The river level should crest at about 13ft, much lower than last nights 15.5′ prediction. In 1999 Hurricane (tropical storm here) Floyd brought the river to 14.1 ft. I Spoke with Jim [edit] last night and he said that the river did not come close to our garage with the flooding from Floyd. That puts me at ease with this current flood. I am not going to move my car unless I receive new information. This email is in no way intented to tell anyone what to do, I just wanted to give you all a heads up to the latest information. If new information comes out I will try to send out another email.

I have my own neighborhood weatherman!! Coolness!

I may even have to switch my allegience from WPVI to watching the 5’o’clock news on NBC10. providing I’m ever home in time to watch the 5’o’clock news….

Awww, he seems like a nice guy. And it’s cool that he actually lives in Philly.
