Best Hamburger in Philly

boc_header_28.jpgI was just reading my e-mail and saw a link on the lower left hand side that read “Best Burgers in 21 cities.” I clicked it to see which of my favorite bars got the nod in Philly. Boy was I surprised when I saw the list. My immediate thought was “What the F$%k!” And “This is such sh&t” What Philly person voted for this? And can we find them and hunt them down? I expected to see Royal Tavern, Standard Tap, Ten Stone, among a ton others. But Fuddruckers? Red Robin?? Come on people, this can’t be real. It’s some sort of scam. These aren’t even in Philly. One was even in Delaware. I think we can do better. Quick. Informal poll. Add your favorites in the comment section.

I have to say that the Red Robin in Langhorne does do a pretty good burger. In fact this past Friday night, after attending my movie of the week, we headed over to Red Robin and I had myself a wonderful Bonzai Burger. Also Nifty Fifty’s does a pretty good burger but I think the food from the Grant Avenue location is a touch better. I wouldn’t go so far as to say these two fo the best Burgers but they are pretty good. I’ve been to Copa Too and can’t say I was Too impressed.

And what the heck is with communist Jersey taking the 2 & 3 slots. Besides having to pay for the burger over there, you have to pay to leave the dreadful state as well. They should most certainly lost points for that fact alone.

You know, this list isn’t too hot at all and I too have yet to find a great burger in Philly…but…

    …Fuddruckers is pretty fucking good.

Finding a good burger in Center City isn’t that hard these days. Standard Tap makes a pretty awesome one, and their fries are so good. Chaucer’s at 20th and Lombard does a good burger. Marathon on the Square does a totally acceptable burger. I’ve had a burger from North 3rd once, and it was awfully good.
