As I’m sure you’re aware, KB Toys is going out of business.

Kind of hits a soft spot with yours truly, who used to constantly go to the store at The Gallery when I was a kid.

Went in there yesterday. What’s left of the store is 50% off.

There is, however, a whole shelf of Indiana Jones and Star Wars toys.

Check it out and get a piece of history, while you can.

Another piece of my childhood – like Woolworth and Roy Rogers – down the drain. ;-(

Fifteen years ago, the Arch Street office of ActionAIDS was a location for filming and the clients were used as extras in clinic scenes. By the time the film had a “Hollywood-type” premiere at the SamEric (The Boyd) Theatre, those featured in the film had died. AIDS treatment today has been somewhat successful in improving health and prolonging life, but there remains no cure. The fight to educate and erradicate continues…

Even if your basement didn’t flood—even if you don’t have a basement that CAN flood—all you need do is write “April 16th storm” on your returns, and you will be unpenalized as long as you file by April 26th.

Of course, then you’ll miss all the televised fun of experiencing the tax-night line at 30th Street PO, but I guess (this being one day past the original deadline and all) we’ve already missed that…..
