Change is good

A couple of weeks ago, I went into my regular produce market, Jin’s on 20th St., and noticed that things were slightly different. For one thing, the asian couple (the Jin’s?) who normally manned the cash registers weren’t there. Some of the signs marking prices and differentiating the kale from the chard were new. Over the last couple of weeks, the space has changed and evolved more and more. The unwieldy table that took up most of the shop space vanished. A refrigerator case holding a variety of fancy cheeses, herbs and meats was installed. Best of all, they are now open on Sunday. In the beginning, I found the changes disconcerting and a little sad. I never knew what the store would look like when I went it. But I’ve come to the opinion that change can be good, especially when the change makes something better.
