So yes, the title of this post has been optimized for Twitter [1], because tomorrow night’s event at National Mechanics [2] is a tweetup hosted by Geeks Who Give [3]. But this isn’t just any tweetup, oh no: it’ll cost you five non-perishable food items to get in, and everything will be donated to Philabundance [4]!

What’s Geeks Who Give?

Geeks Who Give seeks to mobilize this community to reach beyond its self contained boundaries, to route that amazingly powerful and positive energy to people and causes that really need it. [...] Long term goals include idea, goods & services, and resource banks from which we can draw as well as coordinating volunteer opportunities on an individual basis and organizing large scale volunteer efforts for continued organization-based support.

Alex Hillman has a great write-up on his site [5], but there’s also the official GWG Events page [6], the Facebook event page [7]. You can also follow GWG on twitter [8] to get up-to-the-minute info.
