A Philadelphia View

View of Philadelphia, looking west

It is a perfectly beautiful day in Philly. The sky is blue, with artistically place white, puffy clouds. I spent some time at the pool on the roof of my apartment building this afternoon. This is the view from the roof, looking southwest.

It got a little cloudy later in the afternoon (coincidentally, right when I decided to go for a walk and photograph along the Parkway) but you caught the right time. Saturday was even more beautiful.

Kudos on catching the Cira Center from the only angle at which it’s not an eyesore – by day anyway. At night, it’s an abomination from any direction.

i love that building from any vantage point during the day! i think it’s gorgeous, love the way it changes color with the sky – it reminds me of the prow of an ocean liner. why on earth do theyt have to make it such a monstrousity at night? is there anywhere to call and complain? i live right on the river and walking at night is marred by the lightshow.

From that angle I see the ship thing, and the mirrored effect is nice, but it’s so out of scale with the neighborhood around it, and from most angles just looks like some kind of sinister monolith… and at night, I don’t think we even need to talk about it.

Maybe we should start some kind of petition. lol
