DiNic’s Roast Pork (with provolone and greens)

DiNic's [1]

As some of you know, I’m doing a project this summer where I’m spending big chunks of time at Reading Terminal Market [2], talking to people, recording their stories, taking pictures and posting all of it on a blog called Stories from Reading Terminal Market [3] (I know, I got really inventive with the name). You might have even heard about it in the Philly Weekly [4] that came out Wednesday.

I had lunch with a guy named Eric on Monday and he told me some stories about the experiences he’s had at the Market over the years. When he first emailed me, he told me that part of the deal was that I had to try his favorite sandwich in order to hear his stories. I was happy to go along, and now that I’ve eaten the sandwich, I’m even happier. Folks, you’ve got to try the roast pork with provolone and greens that DiNic’s [5] dishes up. It’s one of the happiest sandwich experiences I’ve had in my life. It’s messy and by the time you get to the end, the bread is starting to lose it’s integrity, but that doesn’t matter. The taste is someplace very close to sandwich perfection. If you are among the porcine consumers out there, please check out this sandwich, you will not be sad that you did.
