So last night I wind up an hour early for an appointment, and need to go someplace to kill time near16th and Locust. The good news is, Tequila’s, one of my favorite restaurants, is right around the corner. So I go in, felt a little underdressed in blue jeans and sneakers, but the bar was filled with people who were just chilling after a Monday. The Yankees game was on TV — “the best team money can buy,” the bartender said to a customer — and later the bartender channel-surfed over to the Philadelphia Soul game. One thing that caught my attention was that they had placards up to introduce their new Master Mixologist — Junior Merino, winner of International Bar Show Cocktail Competition.
