Broduer Breaks Parent’s Record in Philly

I didn’t get a chance to put this up yesterday when it was slightly more topical but anyway. The Flyers arch-nemesis, The New Jersey Devils, came into the Wachovia Center and won 3-2. Resulting from that win was the NHL single season record for wins, previously held by Bernie Parent and broken by Martin Brodeur. Broduer coming into Philly to break it just adds salt to an already gushing wound that this season has become. Be thankful Flyers fans, the nightmare only last two more games.

i take solace in that he wouldn’t have come close to the record if there were still ties.

You are right he would have been 10 short of his current number if the NHL still had ties. Regardless of what we may take solace in, when everyone else looks at the records for single season wins by a goaltender Brodeur’s name will appear first and Parent’s second.
