Appel Farms Arts and Music Fest

In the five years I’ve lived in Philly, I’ve been to the Appel Farms Arts and Music Festival twice. One year it rained all day and my friend Cindy and I ended up sitting under a tarp all day. We must have looked like a large blue bump on the surface of the lawn. The next year it was beautiful and while we brought along the same tarp, we didn’t have to cover ourselves with it once. The crazy part is that I think I had more fun the year it rained, although by the end of the day we were really ready to not be wet anymore.

Anyway, the folks at Appel Farms announced the lineup for the fest this year and it’s a really great one. I’m particularly excited about Amos Lee, Adrienne Young and the North Mississippi Allstars. The festival is on Saturday, June 2nd and goes from 11:30 until 8 pm. Tickets are cheaper if you buy them early (but there doesn’t seem to be an XPN member discount this year, which is a bummer). It’s a really fun day and strongly encourage attendance!
