A new food obsession

I went to Tria (18th and Sansom) for the first time tonight (I know, I know, you’re all reading this and thinking, “what took her so long? That place has been around forever by now”). Well, it’s always seems a little snooty to me, but a friend had gotten a gift certificate from her boyfriend and invited me to go with her to have a couple of glasses of wine, a few items from the menu and and evening of catching up. I couldn’t say no.

We got a table outside and sat under a panel that radiated heat while the tickle of a breeze danced by. All the food was lovely, but I was particularly struck by the argula and beet salad. I can’t stop thinking about it. At the first spare moment I have tomorrow, I will be running out to get my hands on some beets, red onion and argula to see if I can’t recreate it (it also had chopped toasted almonds, chevre and a light dressing that wasn’t particularly tangy). I think I can do it. I must have that salad again by my own hands. I will let you know how it turns out.
