Photo of the Day: Chinese New Year

This Chinese New Year is the year of the pig and they’re celebrating in Chinatown starting this past Sunday, February 18th and ending on the full moon 15 days later on March 4th.

I missed the firecrackers, lion dances, and dragon parade that kicked off the new year this past Sunday, but according to the Philly Fun Guide, there will be additional parades on Sunday, February 24th and Sunday, March 4th, starting around noon. The final day of the new year celebration (March 4th) is celebrated with a Lantern Festival at night – I’m so there.
