Lawyers for the Arts

For those who don’t know, I’m a nerd who never grew out of his scifi/rpg gaming roots. Star Fleet Battles, Dungeons and Dragons, Car Wars, I played ‘em all. Here’s the deal. What happens if you make a game supplement, want to sell it online, but then a friend says, “I think [gaming company] already made one of those”?

After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I did about an hour’s worth of net searching for intellectual property lawyers who would handle a small case, or provide a one-time consultation, or something. I didn’t find anything, but then I tried “Philadelphia lawyer arts” or something like that. After all, it’s not the Mona Lisa, but it’s a creative project.

Et voila, Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts! I called and left a message; they’ve called back and we’re playing phone tag with setting up an appointment.
