American Roots–Produce Style

It has been more than 28 hours since I have left my apartment building. I ventured down the hall earlier today to take the trash out, so at least I can’t say that I haven’t left my apartment at all. I’m dreaming of a time when the wind doesn’t blow quite so harshly and the sidewalks aren’t covered with a sheet of ice. While the predictions don’t look great for the next couple of days, there’s something happening at Reading Terminal Market this weekend that might entice me to walk the eight blocks required to get there.

This Saturday at the Market is the annual American Roots Festival. There will be bluegrass music, activities for the kids and cooking demonstrations in the back of Foster’s Cookware. Just like last year, there will also be people costumed in root vegetable costumes will be strolling the festival. If you take a picture with a sweet potato, please post the picture to our Flickr group!
