Red Doors

I love the red doors of many of the churches in Philadelphia and have been meaning to start a red door photo project since I moved here. Then, the other day I was passing by Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, and I realized that I didn’t even have to traverse around the city to get a series of pictures because all of the doors of this church were different, and importantly for my purposes, all are a wonderfully bright red. So here are the ones that are on the Spruce side of the church.

For some reason I didn’t poke around inside, but now that I check out their webpage (refresh the page for different pictures), I realize I’m going to have to step inside next time I’m passing by. The dark wooden beams, the red seats organized in a semi-circle, and the lovely arch of the interior really appeal to me. I tend not to like drippy baroque art and architecture, and this church has none of that.
