My New Years Resolutions, Philly Style

I was born in Philadelphia and no matter where I visit I can’t imagine calling anywhere else home. I have experienced almost everything in the city that’s worthwhile. My new year’s resolutions are to:
1. Volunteer one weekend out of the month at a soup kitchen. I did this during the holiday season and nothing feels more fulfilling than helping others (I should know, I was a social worker).
2. Enjoy more of my old neighborhood. See, when you grow up in Philly and you actually get to leave the hood sometimes you don’t want to go back. Many Philadelphians don’t travel outside of their area.
3. I am going to spend more time with my family because life is short; here today, gone tomorrow.
4. I am going to start going out more. The night scene is kind of boring to me. It’s always the same people out every week. Philly is a small big city. I say this because it’s very possible to run into people on the regular basis.
Well ladies and gents, there you have it. My New Years Resolutions Philly Style.
