To the woman crossing the Benjamin Franklin Parkway tonight

You were crossing the Benjamin Franklin Parkway at 20th Street tonight at around 8:25 pm wearing a strapless gown with no coat. Did you not get the message that our freakishly warm spell has ended? Your date appeared to be well bundled so I think you may have heard. I hope you didn’t have far to go, as you looked freezing. I wanted to jump out of my car with the blanket that was leftover from a concert this summer and wrap it around you, but I was afraid that you wouldn’t appreciate me mussing your dress, and the light was about to change, and you know what happens in this town if you aren’t quick to move through the intersection on a green light. Anyway, I hope you didn’t get frostbite.
