Great Night Out

I’ve been a bit bummed being back home after returning from my honeymoon in Ireland last week, but last night is just what the doctor ordered. A night out enjoying some of my favorite things to remind me why I love Philadelphia. Finally recovered from jetlag, I headed to The Kyber, my favorite music venue in the city, to see the always intriguing Skeleton Key. Great brews were on tap as always–including yummy seasonals such as Anchor Steam Christmas Ale. We arrived to see an enjoyable set by the talented but somewhat frightening Stolen Babies. Then, the set up of the instruments that would otherwise be refuse (such as empty kegs and oil cans) began, announced the near-arrival of Skeleton Key to the stage. They did not disappoint. Their show is both an audio and a visual experience, with the vocalist and “garbage player” (as the drummer called his band mate after the show) being sublimely entertaining to see and watch.

Ah. Finally I can say it’s good to be back!
