Hell No I’m Not Voting
It’s another election day, and I’m so excited I could just … blah! I’m so fed up with the entire process. Pretending our vote matters. Faking that one politician is – indeed – different than another. Imagining his/her values might be different. The truth is that the voting process sucks. I’m convinced it does nothing little than to provide a list for potential jurors.
At least the king of Bensalem isn’t running this year. I’ve had enough calls from George Bush and Ed Rendell to make me sick. They never even call me when I’m home.
Do you know that the other day some politician’s office called me to see how I felt about violence against women? Imagine that. I wanted to tell them I loved it, just to see…
Just to see if they even cared.
That’s how I know the whole bogus process is nothing but a waste of time. And I’m sick of it.
I’m not staying up tonight to see who won. I could care less whether it’s the Steelers’ player or the Eagles’ commentator. Politics means nothing because politics are irrelevant to how we live our lives.
I really could care less anymore. And somehow I suspect the politicians flooding my house with calls every day feel the same.
