But Their Careers are not Blossoming…

The Gin Blossoms are coming to town. Yes, the mid-90s couple-of-hit wonders will be performing at the Troc tomorrow at 8 pm. Admit it, you enjoyed listening to their songs, even though they kind of sounded the same. I felt a tinge of pain when I saw the announcement of this concert, featured in my Philly Fun Guide weekly email. It indicated that you can now get tickets to this concert for half off. That’s right, $12. Perhaps that will be enough of an incentive to get people to see these boys. In the past I have seen Ruben Studdard and Arrested Development at the Troc past their prime–for free. Both shows were excellent, and I felt bad for the artists that tickets had to be given away for free to get a somewhat respectable crowd. Who knows, maybe $12 will end up being a rip-off and you can see the Gin Blossoms for free. As long as no more bands formerly popular in the 90s have to resort to doing horrible Burger King commercials, all is well in the world.

I saw the Gin Blossoms in South Carolina two years ago and they still sound good, surely worth the $12 at the Troc.

Dang. I wish I could go spend twelve bucks, or nothing, to see them.

Curse being a musician and having conflicting schedules!!! :( :( :(
