Carnivale of the Dogs

splashing dog

Notes:     The Carnivale of the Dogs in Rittenhouse Square Park this weekend reminded me of a giant playgroup for dogs. Or maybe it was for their owners – I saw a red carpet (for the costume contest I missed) and dog portraits and a band – all things which seem to me like they would be more fun for the dog owners than for the dogs themselves. Interestingly, I didn’t see a dog run (did I miss it?). So the place for the dogs to play was, apparently, the fountain.

I caught this dog diving into the water by focusing my camera first on a floating tennis ball, and by the time I went to take the picture, he was already diving headfirst.
