Kelly Writers’ House

One of my very favorite places on Penn’s campus is the Kelly Writers’ House. I’ve seen a couple of readings there, packed tightly into a chair in a corner, just grateful for the fact that I had a seat in the living room. I just got an email announcing the writers that they are going to have in residence this academic year, and it’s a very nice collection. Being that I’ve just embarked on a Masters in Writing at St. Joe’s, this might be more appealing to me than most people, but if you are interested in hearing good writers read their work in an intimate environment, you should keep your eyes peeled for the dates of these readings.

John McPhee is going to be around February 12-13. Jamaica Kincaid (who I am reading for my fiction workshop) will be on campus March 19-20 and Donald Hall will be around April 16-17.
