India’s Independence Day was August 15th 1947. There’s a celebration today at Penn’s Landing from 12 to 8, featuring food and dancing. About 10,000 people are expected to attend. Since it fell in the middle of the week, some places — ie. the Bay Area and Central Jersey — celebrated last weekend.
