Rose Tattoo Café

Yesterday was my fiancé’s birthday, and we wanted to have a nice dinner with friends to celebrate. The problem: most places, particularly higher end dining establishments, are closed on Mondays. We scoured citysearch for Monday-friendly places and found the Rose Tattoo Café at 19th and Callowhill. This fit perfectly since we wanted to explore the waterworks renovations by the art museum anyway and could easily walk from there. More importantly, just reading the first item on their dinner menu made our mouths water.

We made a reservation for a balcony table and dined up among hundreds of beautiful plants. It definitely gives the sense of the New Orleans French Quarter, complete with faux but not tacky street lamps. The service is some of the best I’ve ever had, and the food! One delicious treat after another. The lobster quesedillas are amazing as are any of their crab dishes. My only complaint is the portions are on the large side, but it gives you more to carry home if you’re a smaller eater like me. I would go back on any day of the week!
