Credit Card Roulette

Played my first game of credit card roulette at an Italian restaurant in Old City with a dining party o’ five (went to Amici on Market ‘tween 2nd & 3rd–sleek modern decor atypical of most Italian restaurants, excellent food, tortoise-slow service indoors, but probably fair service outdoors where most of the crowd was). I was joking when I suggested we all throw our respective pieces of plastic on the table & have the waitress choose a random card, but turned out everyone was game. It’s probably not wise that you engage in this jeu de chance with large groups or at fine dining establishments where the wine is flowing freely and everyone’s ordering 5 lb lobsters or Kobe steaks (tho I hear it’s common sport for corporate types with big expense accounts). But a quiet Sunday dinner, sure. We all thankfully lost to my good friend Ramoncito, who accepted his “win” like a champ. I have a feeling this isn’t the last of the CC Roulette with this group–I both fear and anticipate the next dinner outing we’re all together. No whammies, no whammies!!!
