Wacky Weather

I hate to post about something as mundane as the weather, particularly as the ungodly heat of the past 2 days has finally subsided, but here goes. I just saw on the evening news a report about the number of homes in our area still without power after last night’s storm. This is something like the 4th worst outage in PECO history? Dios mio. I of course heard the thunder last night, and held my breath as our electricity flickered for a moment, but all was forgotten by this morning. Until I saw a large tree in the middle of the street at 21st and Green. And then heard the horror stories of co-workers as they spoke of their commutes to work without the regulation of the human temperament known as the traffic light.

An update on the tree: On my way home from work the tree still had not been removed. Instead, there was caution tape placed around the outline of it. In case you were to miss the giant tree in the middle of the road. God bless Philadelphia.

The lights flickered at my house too, but there are plenty of people I work with who are without power, still! Some said it won’t be working again until the weekend. My goodness.
