Like what we got down South
hail (hāl) noun
1. Precipitation in the form of spherical or irregular pellets of ice larger than 5 millimeters (0.2 inches) in diameter.
2. Something that falls with the force and quantity of a shower of ice and hard snow
That sound you are hearing? The one that sounds like a kid or potential lover is throwing rocks against your window? That would be hail, my friends. I understand that thunderstorms of this ferocity are rare and unusual in the northern atlantic states. Down in Mississippi, these are so common no one thinks anything of them…even if the power goes out.
Welcome to summer, my friends.
