coolest staircase ever.
hello everyone! i want my first post to be positive, so i’d like to relate a bit about my recent relocation to chestnut hill.
nutty hill, as i call it, is quiet, clean, replete with trees, and so perfectly walkable. i traipse around the neighborhood just about every day, usually to gawk at gigantic mansions or grab a snack.
after many non-airconditioned hours in the apartment this past sweltering sunday i decided to poke around rex avenue. it’s a few blocks away, and dead ends onto a fairmount park trail. the trail is mostly paved or gravel and follows a hill down to the wissahickon creek.
at the bottom of the hill, just before the rex avenue bridge, is the coolest staircase i’ve ever seen. the dark stone twistiness, archway and bent tree make it look like something out of a tim burton film.
so neat! i can’t wait to explore more of the local trails.
