A few fun, free wifi spots

• LaVa 21st & South–Vibrantly lit with natural light during the day and by antique chandeliers at night, this corner coffee shop’s eclectic mix of vintage couches welcomes you to lounge for a while with a paper or novel o’ the moment. Internet is a bit spotty.
• Mugshots 21st & Fairmount–The health nut menu, diverse choice of smoothies and shakes, cozy seating area make Mugshots an easy place to plant your patootie for a day of netsurfing, bloggin’, or perusing a mag. Caveat: there’s a time limit on camping out during busy hours (nights & weekends.)
• The Crooked Frame Coffee and Art Gallery 26th & Brown–The quirky mix of instrumental jazz playing in the background and the equally quirky artistic neighborhood crowd give the Crooked Frame a funky, friendly feel. And of course, all the different art dressing the walls and windows create a pleasing aesthetic. (I’m writing from this very location right now.)

Spots for fair weather:
• Logan Circle–Surprisingly good signal, but no shade, so a little bright
• Love Park–Signal strength is hit or miss, but as a plus, there are electrical outlets near the benches on the south side of the park in case you’re running low on juice

I’ve always wanted to go to LaVa and I love Mugshots.

Don’t forget that you can also get free wireless in Rittenhouse and Fitler Square too!
