Hyper-localized rainshower

As I was standing outside a lunch truck on Market Street today, I got caught in the rain. Before I went to get lunch, I peeked out my window and the world looked sunny and bright, a few fluffy white colds punctuating an otherwise perfect sky. It wasn’t raining on the east end of the block where my office is, but as I walked towards 36th Street, I found myself pelted with cold, fat drops. I was shocked as how fast the weather had changed in the few minutes since I had walked outside, until I looked behind me. It was not raining at all down at my building. It was as if there was an invisible line in the sidewalk, and rain was only allowed to fall on the west side of the line. I got my lunch and hurried back, anxious to cross the weather line back into the dry, warm climate. Weather is some funny stuff.

I love it when you can outrun a rain shower in your car.
