Body Worlds Weekend

A friend called me late last week, saying “Since Body Worlds is almost done, my family and I are finally making the arrangements to see it on Monday. Do you have any suggestions about when to come that won’t be too crowded?”

Once I picked myself up off the floor and recovered from my fit of uncontrollable laughter, our conversation continued along to other topics.

Seriously, folks, it’s kinda crazed during these last 5 (!!!) days of the exhibit. You may have heard that final projected attendance could pass the mark set by PMA’s Cezanne as Philly’s most-attended exhibit in history. (Though I can’t help wondering how far back this history has been kept: is this a 10-year mark? 50? Somewhere in between?)

Meanwhile, final preparations continue for the slate of weekend activities that will coincide with the final 64-hour marathon weekend for the exhibit:

Events include 75 cents overnight IMAX from 9:00PM - 7:00AM on Friday and Saturday; and from 9:00PM until 12 Midnight on Sunday; Friday/Saturday/Sunday see “Sonic Vision” in the Planetarium; Saturday only, Drexel University’s WKDU will be on hand, as well as a cash bar. You can even play “Science Quizzo” with Johnny Goodtimes!

I don’t yet know when or if I’ll be reporting for weekend duty, but I’m certainly on standby for same. Anyone have a twin-size air mattress I can borrow? I could just barely fit it into my office for napping.
