Sex on the Walnut Street Bridge

Walking east over the Walnut Street bridge tonight at about 8 pm with my friend Jessica, we noticed a black Honda Accord coupe, parked in the far south curb lane. It was beyond the point of the parking area, in the portion of the road that becomes the turn lane. I saw it from a distance, and thought it was strange that it was effectively parked in the middle of the street, but didn’t think anything of it until we were walking right past it. Jess saw it first, stopped in her tracks and said, “Whoa.” I followed her gaze and my jaw dropped. There was a couple in the car, going at it, totally unconscious to the rest of the world, parked in the middle of the Walnut Street bridge. We stood there staring for a minute, unable to believe that we were actually seeing what we were seeing.

You never know what you’re going to see during the course of an evening in Philadelphia.
