California Dreams, Part Deux

More and more pieces are falling into place for this California trip I have planned for June. For one thing, I am now booked to fly in to Los Angeles in late June. And good news for those in the area…I have yet to book a return flight. Right now I want to visit the cities, notably San Diego, LA, San Jose, and San Francisco. Perhaps even more important to me is to see the Pacific Ocean and to make the LONG drive up Coastal Highway One from LA to San Fran.

Big Sur, Hearst Castle, Monteray Bay, and the vineyards. Yes, especially the vineyards. Be careful because I’m coming for you.

Which leads me to the logical question if any Metblog readers have ever taken a similar trip. My yahoo planner is already filled up with more than enough things to do on the left side of the country, but I am always looking for more and more.

Also, does anybody know if it’s possible to camp on the beach? I want to camp on the beach and I want to look over the cliffs at the great white sharks and killer whales. So if anybody can help me with any of that it would be much appreciated.

If you like skiing, go to Tahoe. If you like seals, go the pier.

Done various parts of it several times, and did the Portland-San Francisco-Los Angeles drive (and return via train) over winter break this past December. I’ve got a bunch of photos and can give you some advice if you like. Contact me if so.
