Funny phone call

I was out at the Unitarian happy hour tonight, when my cell phone rang. I looked around, everyone who would have been calling me was standing around me, so I peaked at the number. Not recognizing it, I answered and walked out of the bar to be better able to hear. It was an automated call from the City of Philadelphia, telling me that they were declaring a city-wide snow emergency starting at 6 pm tomorrow and that all cars should be moved from emergency routes. I listened for a while and hung up before the message was over and walked back to my friends. No one could believe that I had just gotten an a call from the, and several people wondered why they hadn’t gotten one. I was also actually a little surprised that they were declaring a snow emergency before a single snowflake had fallen.

Did anyone else get one of these calls?

Yep–the same message was waiting for me on the answering machine when I got home from work Friday evening.
