Friday afternoon, I took advantage of my position as a Philly Metroblog writer to announce that my personal blog, Apartment 2024, was in the running for the coveted “Philly Future Featured Blog” slot. Well, Sunday afternoon the voting ended, and it was a tie between the Green Bleeder and my own little blog. Currently, there is a runoff under way, and as I write this, I am losing.

But I’m not writing this to tell you to go vote for me (although if you choose to, I wouldn’t complain). I’m simply asking you to go over and take a look at Philly Future. Since this contest started running, I’ve been spending more time at Philly Future than I normally do, and I’m continually impressed and surprised the quality of information and writing that lands there. Check out what they are doing for the Philadelphia blogging scene and for alternative media in general. If you live in the Philadelphia area, they should be one of your regular stops.
