Knight-Ridder is listening to purchase offers
Who will be the new owner of the Inquirer and the Daily News? Well, we don’t know yet, but it looks like Knight-Ridder is one step closer to finding out. According to the Bay Area Mercury News (which is also owned by Knight-Ridder), KR is meeting with potential buyers starting this week. It is a process that could take up to three weeks, as they entertain their offers. They are not under any obligation to accept these offers, but they are under pressure from their major shareholders to get bought, and soon.
