West Virginia was an 11 ½ point underdog. Villanova was supposed to have an easy Sunday afternoon and improve to 11-0 on the season. The Mountaineers had different plans and while they couldn’t stop Villanova’s high powered offense they did create 22 turnovers which helped them to defeat the Wildcats 91-87. ‘Nova could have moved up to #2 in the nation with a win as Marquette defeated UConn last Tuesday. Instead they became the seventh team in the top 10 to lose in the past week.
