Gagne Wins It


On the road again, and still the Flyers have the same result. On all of the first seven games on the current 11 game road trip the Flyers have nabbed points. Tonight, just seven seconds into overtime NHL leading scorer Simon Gagne got the game winner and gave the Flyers another road win. In the second of eight meetings between the two teams the Flyers got some revenge for a season opening loss to the Rangers.

Antero Niitymaki continued to play well, stopping 31 shots, improving his record to 15-4-4 on the season. The game was the 16th game in the last 18 that was decided by one goal or less for the Flyers. The Flyers power-play clicked three times on five chances after going through an awful drought in which they had only scored twice on the previous 35 attempts. Gagne
