Rendell Offers to Buy Back Valley Forge From Federal Government

In 1976 the state of Pennsylvania sold Valley Forge Historical Park to the Federal government for $1. Now citing, a failure to build the proposed American Revolution Center, Governor Ed Rendell has offered to buy the park back. The ARC museum was proposed six years ago but has been at a crossroads over the size of the building. Current park officials want it to be no bigger than 50,000 square feet, while the original proposal called for 96,000 square feet.
