Nova Remains Perfect Defeats Penn

The #3 ranked Villanova Wildcats held off a tough Penn team tonight to move to 7-0 on the season, defeating the Quakers 62-55 tonight. The 7-0 start is the first for the Wildcats since the 1995-1996 season. Allan Ray put up 19 points for Nova and helped hold off a late 24-7 run in the second half.

The Quakers are a better team than their 3-4 record suggests. They recently had to face #1 Duke and went toe to toe with them for a short period of time before succumbing 72-59. The Wildcats win comes one day before the 50th anniversary of the first Big 5 game which Villanova lost to St. Joe
