Flyers Fall Apart


The Flyers have had a problem all season with putting teams away. After a stellar comeback from down 3-1, to take 5-3 lead into the second the Flyers fell apart. What makes it worse they fell apart with less than two minutes left in the game. Atlanta forward Peter Bondra scored with 1:50 left in the game to cut the Flyers lead to 5-4. Then with just 7 seconds left, Atlanta forward Patrik Stefan tied the game.

All of this resulted from two penalties taken by the Flyers in the final three minutes allowing the Thrashers two power plays in the final minutes. I
