Mighty peculiar weather we’re havin’*

Okay, I admit it, the weather has got me a little crazy. I don’t know what to wear and I don’t know whether to open my windows or turn on the air conditioning. I live on the 20th floor of a high rise, so it’s always hard to tell what it’s like outside. I depend on a thermometer hanging outside my window and a certain understanding of what season we are in. That system of estimation is being blown completely out the window these days, though.

It is NOVEMBER.

November 16th to be exact. Typically the season for coats, scarves, gloves and red noses. And it’s going to be a freakish 70+ degrees today. I am grateful that there is a storm coming, which will return the outside temperature to a more seasonal 40 degrees. At least then I’ll know what I should put on in the mornings and if I’ll need a coat.

*A paraphrase of a line said in “The Wizard of Oz” when it snows to combate the sleepy effects of the poppies.

I’m glad someone else noticed the freakish weather we are having. If I wanted 70 degrees in November I would move south. I want it cold and rainy (or better yet snowy). Except on Wednesdays when I have hockey, but rain tonight is OK. I don’t feel like playing.
