Shut Up T.O.
Terrell Owens apologized to Eagles today after blasting the organization for not publicly recognizing his 100th career touchdown catch two weeks ago. “I’ve had an opportunity to talk with the Eagles organization and I have learned that the team does not recognize individual achievements,” Owens said in a prepared statement. “It has been brought to my attention that I have offended the organization and my teammates. Therefore, I would like to apologize for any derogatory comments toward them.” It is truly a shamed that T.O. is too stupid to know that might have been considered offensive to his team.

Shortly before Owens’ apology, coach Andy Reid didn’t rule out suspending the All-Pro wideout following his latest comments, which included more criticism of quarterback Donovan McNabb. “I take care of those things in-house,” Reid said. “I obviously will address the player and those people I need to talk to and work this thing out.’”
It’s unlikely Owens would be suspended now that he’s apologized.
In an interview with ESPN.com on Thursday, Owens took shots at the team and McNabb. He made his 100th career TD reception in a victory over San Diego on Oct. 23, but the accomplishment was not acknowledged on the video screen:
Owens: “He’s a guy, obviously, a number of commentators will say he’s a warrior, he plays with injuries,” Owens said of Favre. “I just feel like (with) him being knowledgeable about the quarterback position, I just feel like we’d probably be in a better situation.”
Me: Okay, so basically you must have been asleep when the Packers played the Vikings last year and Favre threw a forward lateral because he was just having fun out there. He cost his team the game that day. Favre is slow and old and stubborn. He’s a good QB, but McNabb is Top Five in the league. I’d take Favre over McNabb if this were 1997, but those days are now gone.
Owens: “Our wins and losses are really predicated on how he plays,” he said of McNabb. “Everybody can point fingers at our defense, but it doesn’t matter. Even when we were 28 (points) down (in a loss at Denver last Sunday), I still had in the back of my mind that we could come back had our offense gotten in sync.”
Me: Let’s see. The Eagles have won four games now, but have given up 153 points since the second week blowout of San Fran. McNabb has started one game so far where he was not behind from the getgo. And you don’t want to blame the defense at all?!? Last year the Eagles had such a great season and they led the league in first quarter point differential (points they scored versus points their opponents scored). This year the Eagles are 28th.
Owens: “They claim to be first-class, and the best organization,” he said of the Eagles. “I just felt like it was an embarrassment. It just shows the lack of class that they had.”
What the frig did you want? Chris Berman mentioned your name on ESPN. That’s all Marvin Harrison got for the same achievement weeks earlier.
