Insecure Living

A few months ago I had a stable living arrangement — at my parent’s home in suburbia, but a volatile work environment. Now I’ve got a solid work situation but an unstable living arrangement. I’m in a building in Northern Liberties, where we just had our second fire alarm in as many weeks. A former resident, who was since evicted, pulled the first one, but this time it was real, and, according to the firemen who put it out, intentional. Apparently someone broke into the apartment and set a carpet on fire in the control room of the building. Each of the floors has been spray-painted and one of the residents reported having paint scuff marks on her door where someone tried to enter. Management has pledged to keep a security guard at the door for the forseeable future to prevent such outbreaks.

Wow Salas, that sounds really uncomfortable. I hope they get it resolved!
