The Grand Ballroom in the Whyndham Franlin Plaza Hotel — 17th and Race Sts. — will host its annual Halloween Ball on Monday night, the 31st.

According to Dave:

It’s a hell of a hootenanny, and I’ve been going for the past 11 years. Costume contests, drag queens, and really friendly and interesting people! Chances are, our governor will be walking about, as he is wont to do, along with other Philly personalities. the only thing that sucks is the drink setup - you need to stand in line and purchase a ticket for a drink, then stand in another line (which is right next to the line you were just in) at the bar to get your drink; I’d recommend that you get tuned up before you come, or wear a costume that you can stash yer booze in, if gettin’ hammered ’s yer bag, baby!
