CT Hockey Starts Its 4th Season

After weeks of speculation about if there would be a fourth season, the fourth season of the amateur roller hockey league, CT Hockey Association, located in Northeast Philadelphia began tonight. Two games were scheduled for tonight with Team Hemi taking on the defending champion Wolfgang Pucks in the early game and Venom taking on the new replacement team The Kings in the late one.

Team Hemi got off to a quick start putting up 6 goals in the first period, two on the power play, and looked like a brand new team out skating the slower Wolfgang team to the ball. Matt Vorgity netted a pair of goals in the period. But the defending champions got their act together in the second period and out scored Hemi 2 to 1 with goals by Tony Neisser and Pat McKenna. The game got a little bit rough towards the end with both teams gaining coincidental minor roughing calls a couple of times. Tony Neisser made it interesting though netting his second and third goals of the game but it turned out to not be enough. The game was stopped 10 seconds early after Ryan McDowell got dealt a two handed slash up high and Team Hemi won 7 to 5. Game Winner: Mike Gazarra
