It’s funny, I was just talking to my mom yesterday about how Philly has always thought of itself as a second class city. Maybe it’s time to give up that perception for good.

But as soon as we realize we’re worth something, I think we’ll lose a whole lot. Most of what we have going, in fact. Part of the charm of Philly is thinking we’re just full of crap and aren’t worth two shits when it comes to tourism.

At least people feel at home when they come here.

The people of Philly don’t want to see it as a ‘great city’. Philadelphians want to be the underdog and have that chip on their shoulder of ‘we always get overlooked’ and crap like that. The people make the city and therefore Philadelphia will never be a ‘great city’ since the majority honestly don’t want it to be.

I beg the differ, many Philly Natives have a lot of pride in their city! I know I have! Yes, there are those who have no pride in their city but a lot do, enough to make a difference. I use to live in the south in Florida, and I have been in a lot of major cities and none compares to the flavor of Philadelphia.I always had a hunch that one day Philly is going to reclaim the light that it once was.

I’d like to see Philly compete with cities like Tokyo,NYC,and London. The government doesn’t seem to care about makin Philly a world class city. They’re content with the way things are.I’m not.One of my favorite songs is ‘Philly,Philly’ with Beanie Siegel.
