Major SEPTA Route changes

Schedules will change on Monday, Aug. 29 for a number of SEPTA Suburban Transit Division Victory District routes. SEPTA’s City Transit Division schedules will change on Sunday, Sept. 4.

New timetables are available now at SEPTA sales offices, on vehicles and at SEPTA transportation districts. The schedules will also be available on the SEPTA web site at http://www.septa.org. For additional information riders should call the SEPTA Customer Service Department at (215) 580-7800.

Riders will also find that Suburban Victory and Frontier Routes 93, 110, 123, 124 and 125 will now operate an enhanced Sunday schedule on Labor Day to accommodate the hours of major shopping malls. Special timetables will be issued to riders around the holiday.

In addition, Routes 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 14, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 39, 40, 42, 43, 46, 47, 47M, 48, 52, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 60, 61, 64, 65, 70, 73, 80, 88, 310, C, G, HXH, K, R, and LUCY have been added to the bicycle accessible route network. All City and Suburban Transit Division bus Routes (with the exception of Routes 23, 29, 59, 66, 75, 79) will be equipped with front-mounted bicycle racks that can accommodate two bikes.

Significant Suburban Transit Division bus route changes to take effect on Monday, Aug. 29 include:

Route 100 - two weekday trips to Bryn Mawr have been added during the
evening rush hour. Weekend running times will be adjusted.

Route 101 - will operate hourly service on Sundays from 5 a.m. to 8
a.m. instead of every half hour.

Route 103 - running times will be adjusted to improve connections
with the Route 115 in Brookline.

Route 104 - weekend trips to Newtown Square Corporate Campus have
been discontinued due to low ridership. Trips will now terminate at
Newtown Square.

Route 106 - the first weekday eastbound trip will begin at Haverford
& Overbrook Avenues.

Route 108 - Sunday service will be increased to every 30 minutes from
9 a.m. until 6 p.m. between 69th Street Terminal and 67th Street &
Elmwood Avenue.

Route 110 - weekday and weekend service will now accommodate Fair
Acres Geriatric Center. Peak hour service from 4-5 p.m. on weekdays
will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.

Route 111 - weekday service will now make stops at the Franklin Mint
between 69th Street Terminal and Chadds Ford Business Campus. Extra
service will now accommodate Fair Acres Geriatric Center on
Saturdays.

Route 113 - additional weekday trips will operate between Darby and
69th Street Terminal.

Route 115 - running times will be adjusted to improve connections
with the Route 103 in Brookline.

Route 120 - full school year service will resume to Cheyney
University, including weekend service. On Sunday, an additional 5:35
p.m. trip from 69th Street Terminal en route to Cheyney will be
added.

Route 122 - the Saturday 7:35 p.m. trip from Springfield Mall to
Westbrook Park has been discontinued due to low ridership.

The following are service changes set to take place on SEPTA City Division routes on Sunday, Sept. 4:

Route 14 - extra weekday southbound trips have been added between 4
p.m. and 6 p.m. OWL trip times from Frankford Transportation Center
have also been revised. Certain trips now serve the Horizon Center.

Route 18 - new weekday and weekend OWL service will depart Wadsworth
Avenue & Michener Street en route to Rising Sun Avenue & Knorr
Street.

Route 20 - service will operate on weekdays and weekends between
Frankford Transportation Center and Franklin Mills Mall.
Experimental routing will continue to use Holme Avenue and Academy
Road for Express trips.

Route 24 - the weekday 5:20 p.m. northbound trip from Summerdale &
Oxford Avenues has been extended to 2nd Street Pike & Knowles Avenue
in Southampton. The southbound return trip will depart this location
at 6:25 p.m.

Route 27 - weekday trip and running times have been revised
throughout the day with adjusted southbound trips from Plymouth
Meeting Mall.

Route 36 - weekday and weekend shuttle buses will continue to operate
into the fall for subway-surface trolley Route 36 due to construction
between 49th Street & Woodland Avenue and 56th Street & Elmwood
Avenue. Passengers should continue to use the timetable dated June
12, 2005.

Route 37 - weekdays all westbound trips from Broad Street & Snyder
Avenue after 9:05 p.m. will leave hourly en route to Chester
Transportation Center.

Route 40 - due to roadway congestion, all trips operating after 1:15
p.m. on Fridays will use Pine Street in Center City. On Saturdays and
Sundays all trips after 12 p.m. will also use Pine Street.

Route 55 - weekdays the northbound 7:15 a.m. trip from Olney
Transportation Center will now bypass Willow Grove Park Mall.

Route 58 - weekdays A.M. express trips will be converted to local
service.

Route G - weekdays and weekends the route will continue to operate on
52nd Street between Haverford Avenue and Walnut Streets to connect
with the Market-Frankford Line at 52nd Street until mid-November due
to the reconstruction of 56th Street Station.

Route L - the last two Saturday southbound trips from Plymouth
Meeting Mall will leave at 10:20 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. An additional
trip will leave the mall at 9:25 p.m. on Sunday.

LUCY - service on the Green and Gold Loops will be improved. Mid-day
Express service will be eliminated.
