XPN at work?

So I work in corporate America, yes it’s true, but it pays the bills. I also work in a highrise, specifically the Mellon Bank Building. So at work I can either listen to the clicking of other peoples’ keyboards, the conversations that include topics about Routers or different cost centers, or my own music as the radio A) won’t reach and B) I need to wear my headphones.

I have plans to buy an iPod soon, maybe I’ll ask for one for my b-day/xmas present, but until then I have a few MP3’s on my laptop that I listen to, but after a while even 10 Gigs of music gets over played.

So today I was very happily surprised to see that XPN is now offered online!! For those of you that don’t know, XPN is the bestest radio station in Philly. It’s on 88.5 fm for those that aren’t in the know. They play the best selection of tunes, I just heard Tegan and Sara followed by ‘Twistin the Night Away’. They play the kind of playlists you won’t find on Clear Channel corporate America.

This is what they say about themselves.

WXPN-FM is the non-commercial public radio service of the University of Pennsylvania and the premier radio showcase for contemporary music that spans the progressive edges of rock, folk, rhythm and blues, and American roots. WXPN also produces programming for national syndication. Our signature program,World Caf
